Treatment - How Our Sequence Shows Our Understanding Of Camera, Composition, Mise-En-Scene And Continuity

Our opening sequence will demonstrate a sound technical understanding.

Camera – pans, sweeps, establishing and master shots, a range of framing eg. MS, CU, MCU, WS, OTS

Mise-en-scene – Using key iconography to connote the setting of a teenage boy’s room eg. Band posters, instruments

Continuity – We will pay close attention to rules such as the 180 degree and 30 degree rule, we will keep an eye on costume and props that are in frame

Lighting – Indoors, high-key, occasionally directional eg. Bedside lamp/ TV Screen

Our titles will be integrated into shot. Our influences and examples are - Panic Room, Moon and Zombieland

Style

Influence by and in the style of Edgar Wright, Director of Scott Pilgrim vs The World and 3 Flavours Cornetto Trilogy. He is known for his:

-Fast, action-style editing (usually of casual tasks)

-Whip pans

-Crash zooms

-He also uses repeated lines or snippets of dialogue  and awkward humour in fast paced moments

-Fast-paced, upbeat mood

        Our sequence will look like an opening sequence because of the titles and because of all the characters and themes being introduced.
