Michael is in his room. He is looking quite sad after the breakup and his friends, Tris and Louis, come round to cheer him up a bit. They talk about the breakup. It becomes obvious that Michael doesn't want to lose Lara, his now ex-girlfriend. Louis is supportive and tries to think of ways that Michael can win her back. Tris, on the other hand, is not so keen on Michael trying to get Lara back and seems quite annoyed.
After some thought, Louis has an idea. He suggests that the trio could form a band and compete in the upcoming Battle of the Bands competition at school. If they win, Lara would surely take Michael back. Michael is very keen on the idea. Tris is not as happy but decides to go with it.
The sequence will start with a montage of Michael doing mundane things around the house while titles and credits are shown. For example, he will be watching TV, playing guitar, lying on his bed and doing his homework. The titles will be integrated in the scene. To keep it simple, they won't interact with the scene at all (eg. casting shadows) but they will move with the camera so that they look like they are a part of Michael's universe. During this part of the sequence, there will be non-diegetic music to add atmosphere.
At the end of the sequence, as they agree to compete in the Battle of the Bands, the camera will move downwards quickly behind an objects to the screen is blank and the film's title rises out of the bottom of the frame. This will be the final shot of the sequence.
